I’d say the Eagles & Giants are about even for team records over the past 21 seasons.
I did some record checking from 1986-2006 (I figured 20 years was a good statistical cross-section). Surprisingly, the Giants & Eagles are very close record wise.
————————–
Eagles (21 Season totals):
6 Division Titles
6 Second Place Finishes
6 (3rd or 4th Place Finishes)
3 Last Place Finishes
Doesn’t seem like there’s a huge difference outside of the SuperBowl victories. But, that stat is pretty much the only one that matters in the end (IMO).
Derf, you’re right. There really is no difference. Lately as far as 2000 and beyond goes the Eagles may have a little more bragging rights as far as division titles go. That trend doesn’t look like it will change this upcoming season though.
Doesn’t really count for much without SB titles though.
There’s simply no question about who is the worst team in that 20 year time span. Even before 1986, I think the Cards only had a good run between 1974-1976.
I think he is actually talking about the upcoming season. The Giants have been good off and on for the past several years but the upcoming season doesn’t look as promising. Their best offensive player retired and their best defensive player (arguebly) is considering retiring. Eli Manning has the whole city of New York on his shoulders without much help. It is set up for disaster for New York this upcoming season.
Oh yeah, and the Cardinals have been very bad. The only thing I remember them for recently is their shutout playoff win against the Cowboys in the late 90′s or early 2000′s….lol
Well, Eli needs to “shit or get off the pot” so to speak. He’s paid to be a QB in the NFL; He plays like he’s a constipated hooker running from the cops.
In any event, yes, I like researching stats. But, stats only go so far. Using them to compare records or compare past team performances is one thing, using stats to base predictions on is another story. As the saying goes “use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post”.
How can anyone protect the eagirls? I mean here is a team that has not won ANYTHING! The love to be the first loser. Listening to the homers make me sick. They will win the Superbowl thisa year! Yeah right get off the crack pipe and join reality. Your QB blows and your secondary is so suspect. And the only offenseive weapon you have is westbrook, who I think by the way is not a good RB just a decent reciever. Nellie, call in the dogs and piss on the fire, no championship this year!!!
234 murders as of 7-31. Must make all you Philthy fans proud!
Wow. Our secondary is suspect? I could have sworn it was the rush defense that was suspect and that we had a great secondary. But JR. says the secondary is suspect so he must be right.
Westbrook is only a decent receiver and not a RB even though he had over 1200 rushing yards last year and has a career rushing average of 4.7. JR says he is not a good RB so he must not be a good RB.
Or maybe JR doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about.
The only things on the Eagles that aren’t suspect are the secondary and their RB situation. Their QB, WR, LB, DT, DE situations all have question marks IMO.
Paul, you are one unrealistic homer. Your prescious Westbrook has his numbers tainted as a RB catching passes out of the back field. Also you missed the fact your QB is a total head case and chokes upon command. Michael you are a clueless dolt who looks at life thru green and white glasses.
Let’s put this entrie argument to rest right now. Show me the fucking hardware (Lombardis) and answer that question about your team being any good.
Yeah, case fuckin’ closed. You will never win shit with a QB like McChokey. Oh and one more thing with your recievers leaving town who will McChokey over throw this year?
Junior, your hate for Philly is very strong but your football knowledge sucks. It’s as simple as that.
The Lombardi trophies have nothing to do with the fact that you picked out the strongest parts of the team and said they were suspect. That was your credibility going down the drain.
BTW, what do you mean he has his numbers tainted catching passes out of the backfield? That doesn’t even make sense. Those 1200 yards are rushing yards that he accumulated through RUSHING. I didn’t even mention his receiving yards. Most of the great RBs were also great receivers out of the back field. Jesus christ, how long have you been following football, two weeks?
